Privacy

Important

Dear customers,

One of the biggest changes to UK data privacy law comes into effect on 25th May 2018. The general Data Protection Regulation, also known as GDPR, means that you’ll have more control over how your data is used. It ensures businesses protect your personal data better. To reflect these changes and new obligations, we’ve updated our privacy policy which now tells you what we do with your personal data, how it’s used and your rights as an individual under the new law.

Your rights as an individual:

  • The right to be informed
  • The right of access
  • The right to rectification
  • The right to erasure
  • The right to restrict processing
  • The right to data portability
  • The right to object
  • The right not to be subject to automated decision-making

We want you to know that Groomingdales respects the information we hold on you and that we take security of your information very seriously.

The information we hold at Groomingdales include; full name, address, contact number, pet’s details including; name, age, breed, microchip, health conditions, behaviour notes, grooming requests and photograph.

This information comes from yourselves and we ask for your consent to record the data and that it is completely up to date. We ask that all customers are over the age of 16 or there is a parent or guardian present.

You have the right to object to give this information if necessary. Please inform us if you would not like your dog’s photograph published on social media.

The information we collect is not used for any other purpose other than Groomingdales. It is not passed on to any other businesses or organisations and all staff are aware of this. This information is retained for as long as you attend Groomingdales or it is discarded by a shredder, this includes after the bereavement of your pet.

We will dispose of your data if an individual has asked us to erase it or the information can be taken away with you if you are moving away etc. We hold your data in a secure box which is stored away at night and the salon doors are locked. You can view any of these details at request.

At Groomingdales we have the right procedures in place to detect, report and investigate a personal data breach.

If there are any queries please feel free to contact myself or Rebecca.

Kind regards

Netty and Rebecca
